I've just installed McAfee Site Advisor as an add-on to my web browser. I believe it's a handy tool to give me added protection while surfing the web. Anyone who surfs the web is at risk of contracting malwares just by visiting malicious websites. Add to that the fake and phishing sites.
When you do a search using popular search engines, browse websites, email, chat or do any transaction online, McAfee Site Advisor displays their safety rating about the website you are visiting. This lets you avoid suspicious sites or any site known to be harboring bad stuff.
McAfee Site Advisor is free, without ads, easy to install and has proven effective for me. It's another layer of protection beyond my firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware.
